Recently I reviewed some boots from Harley Davidson Footwear for my beauty/fashion/lifestyle web site, the Advice Sisters. I hadn’t planned to review them on Leather and Lace Advice, but while I was wear testing them, I quickly realized that these boots not only have quality, style, comfort, but they easily straddle the fence between fashion and fetish. And since Leather and Lace Advice (and our sister site, Leather and Lace SPICE) are all about relationships, sex and love, it seemed appropriate to reprise similar reviews on these sites as well.
While I reviewed them as fashion finds for The Advice Sisters there is no doubt that a leather boot is an object of desire in many different forms. There is nothing sexier and more powerful than a black lather boot, plus a few laces or buckles, studs and straps, to make both men and women, weak in the knees! Whether you are “born to be wild,” or just want to melt a heart, once you check out the dizzying selection of fashion boots from Harley Davidson Footwear, the undisputed king of leather products for bikers who ride for real, you will want to add some of these boots to your collection to heat up your image, or your sex life, or both. While the biker boots from Harley Davidson have all sorts of bells and whistles to keep bikers safe, and comfortable, their line of fashion boots have many of the same characteristics, but with a lighter touch so they’re comfortable for everyday wear. They are officially licensed products, made by Wolverine Boots. FYI Wolverine Boots have been around since 1883!
Since there are so many styles for both men and women in this line, I chose two (for women) and wear-tested them. Valentine’s Day is coming so why not treat yourself, and treat your special someone (on you or on them). What follows is a review of a tall boot style, and a shorter, stiletto style, that lets you strut your stuff, no matter whether you are into fashion, festish, or a bit of both.
If you are a boot lover, your heart will definitely flutter for the likes of Karlia. This tall boot with a platform sole and a 4.5″ tapered and very substantial heel made me feel empowered. The genuine, full grain leather upper is soft but ample, with a lot of stitching detail across the entire boot. The YKK(R) locking inside zipper is strong, and easy to pull up and down (this is really important — no one wants to struggle with a full length zipper on a boot). Two bands of stitched leather festooned with two rows of tiny round pewter studs criss-crossed at the front like a bandelero, follower by two other bands of leather buckled at the side of the boot. at the top of the boot, there is another band of leather with a side buckle, followed by a studded band, and another buckled one that wraps around free standing from the boot at the back, leaving a bit of the skin on your leg, (or your tights/leggings/socks) peeking through.
Boots like these have to fit, or you find yourself hobbling within a few minutes (and that is not a good look). Amazingly, this is the third pair of Harley Davidson boots I’ve been sent to wear test, and no matter how tall or what the style, ALL have been very comfortable. I have bad feet that always hurt, so when a boot or show lets me walk and stand in it for hours without pain, it’s a find. They are not just well made, they are well designed and well balanced.
Inside these boots, it’s “love me tender” with a soft and spongy, full-length cushion sock lining. The shaft height is 14″. The rubber outside grips the pavement. The heel are wrapped. The price on these boots vary depending upon where you purchase them. The boots are available to fit most in medium width sizes 5-10,11 The size 8 boots I tried (and they run absolutely true to size) were being sold on Amazon for approximately $175.00 plus shipping but the suggested retail price is $110.00, You can get Harley Davidson fashion boots and biker boots at plenty of retailers and online retailers. The “Vikky” style boot above might just be my new favorite in the Harley Davidson arsenal. As someone who writes two Leather and Lace websites, how could I resist a boot that is both leather, and lace(s)? This shorter boot style with a slim. tall heel is so sexy I can hardly stand it! (but amazingly, I can easily stand and walk comfortable in it). This Vikky boot is definitely not for riding a motorcycle, but you can ride your partner, or just wear it with everything you own or nothing more than the boots. Putting on this Vikky boot made me want to swagger around like a modern version of Nancy Sinatra in “these boots are made for walking.” It’s sexy and tough, and the stiletto 3 3/4″ heel makes it feminine but in a “take no prisoners” manner. If you want someone’s tongue to hang out, pull these on and walk the walk.
But while the exterior of leather and laces may make his heart race, the boot has the same high quality construction as all the rest of the Harley Davidson boots that race down the highway. This Harley Davidson’s Vikki boot features a high quality upper and a full length cushion sock lining for comfort. The boot sites just above the ankle and has a rounded toe, a lace up design and a stiletto heel. It has a YKK® locking inside zipper for easy on and off and the Cement Construction and rubber outsole ensure that this boot is rugged and durable. The shaft height is 9″ with a nicely gripping rubber outsole and a full grain leather upper.
You can purchase this boot and other Harley Davidson Footwear Fashion boots and biker boots at plenty of retailers and online retailers. For more information visit http://www.harley-davidsonfootwear.com/ Prices vary, so check around. The suggested retail price is $174.00
