With the popularity of the 50 Shades of Grey Trilogy and a host of other BDSM books and romance novels, couples are experimenting with what we might call erotica and BDSM-lite. To do that, we are suggesting two items from a variety of those available on the California Exotic Novelties web site that are easy to understand, fun to use, and that will not cause undo distress beginners. If you want to try a little bit of “kink” without getting too much into it, try these and get a tiny “shade” of grey into your love life!
The Ties That Bind: Start with the Scandal Corset Cuffs Item : SE-2712-22-3. These attractive corset cuffs are part of a coordinated set of restraints that go with the “Scandal” line including the Scandal Spreader Bar that we reviewed last Spring on Leatherandlacespice.com . We mentioned the Universal Cuffs for use with this spreader bar, but these are much more feminine, and frankly, more comfortable to use. The cuffs come on a detachable heavy metal (non tarnishing, nickel-free) 8″ chain that has a universal clasp. The cuffs themselves have a soft and plushy inner side, the outer is wrapped in double-stitched polyester fabric on a rich deep red paisley design on a black background that match the spreader bar and (as we said in our initial review) would not be out of place in a bordello. The cuffs have velcro closures, so you can remove them easily — while they are meant to restrain your partner, she can remove them herself if she tries. The cuffs adjust up to 11”/28 cm for use on wrists or ankles. Why we like them: We like these for one basic reason: not only are the attractively done, but they are velcro based which means that they can be put on and taken off with ease and are always the right size (they will even fit a small wrist). The two cuffs are attached to a foot long, clip on chain so that they can be used as manacles, as is, or clipped around a pole, pillar, or headboard. The chain is also of high quality although obviously commercial. For those who are reading this wondering what one might do with these, it might seem obvious, these cuffs immobolize a woman’s hands, or even legs, allowing her partner to tease her without her being able to protest. This is in “fun” and not meant to humiliate or harm in any way s traditional handcuffs would, since she can always release them herself whenever she wishes. If you are truly feeling a bit “kinky” you could detach the chain and wear the out and about for a party…but you will get attention! Be prepared!
PINCH ME! Nipples are fun to play with so having new ways to play with nipples can lead to new fun and new experiences. A toy which deals with nipples is a toy many women (and men) are tempted to try but are put off by the possibility of pain. California Exotic Novelties has one for first time women which minimizes the pain, but maximizes the sensation. The California Exotic Novelties First Time Fetish™ Nipple Teasers Item : SE-0004-93-3 use a rubber coated clip with curved jaws which follows the nipple’s own rounded shape. It also has a fully adjustable pressure clamp that is nickel-free with Phthlate-free PVC tips, which keeps the clip from tightening too far and causing pain. Between the two clips is a 12.75″ long (nickel-free) chain with just enough weight to provide some light stimulation.
Nipple clamps are not everyone’s cup of tea, but they are a staple in most every BDSM novel, for a reason. Here’s why you might want to try them: Nipple clamps are designed for what is called “sensation play” — in other words, they help to heighten sensation. When applied, nipple clamps squeeze the skin together and force the blood out of the area being clamped down on. This creates a sensation that can be both uncomfortable, and for some, quite plesaurable (there is a fine line between pleasure and pain). Once the clamp is removed, and blood rushes back into the nipple, the wearer will feel another rush of intense sensation. And while a nipple clamp is designed to fit on the nipple, you can use them on other part of the body, as long as it will stay where you put it, and you like the feeling. Note for the true BDSM crowd, these clips are designed to be erotic. If you pull on them too hard they will just come off as opposed to inflicting pain.
